The Wise

Fastened by fear we cling to faith,

deaf to the wise who whisper,

Let go...

Naked and afraid we smile at steel,

never heeding the wise who say,

Let go...

Love quickens our heart's pace,

as we shut away the few smiles we keep,

the wise cry to us unheard,

Let go...

The child's mind goes numb,

brought to a feverish pitch of sought out pleasure

The blind push on, followed closely by the dumb

The words of the wise go drowned in the waters of ecstasy,

Let go...

The wise trouble themselves,

forever seeking to right what is wrong

Who is left now to remind them,

Let go...
