Eyeless Man
A shadow came to me in the night,
And brought with him my fear of light
A breeze and a gust of wind he stepped
Over the doorway,
And into my way.
Eyeless man,
Mouth-less and silent I could not stand;
I killed this shadow this night
for a heart a knife plunged in his heartless days,
Was better than to share in his human gaze.
